WinZip System Utilities Suite comprises an extensive set of tools intended to tweak and optimize your operating system. The program has an intuitive interface, which makes it suitable for every kind of user. Moreover, its tabs allow you to find the desired feature quite easily. On top of that, there is the Home tab, which functions like a sort of control panel and shows you a digested version of your system’s status.
Its features are grouped into three main categories: Repair, Maintain and Restore. Under the label Repair, you can find such utilities as a registry cleaner, a driver updater and a disk cleaner. Fortunately, you can run them as a single scan. Sadly, as in many other trial programs, the number of registry errors you are allowed to fix is too limited, which makes it difficult to assess the real impact of the repairs.
On the Maintain tab you can find utilities to ensure system stability, manage startup programs, uninstall utilities and back up your drivers. Moreover, this is where you can go to receive a detailed analysis of your disk contents, classified according to the type of files, such as documents, pictures, videos, music, etc. Last but probably most important, you can defragment Windows registry, with the resulting speed gain.
The Restore tab is quite self-explicable: you can open this tab if you need to restore previous backups of both the registry and your drivers. It is good that you can schedule the program to perform automatic optimizations on a regular basis and start along with the system, should you want so.
All in all, WinZip System Utilities Suite works as expected. However, it excels in nothing. Considering that many of the utilities in the suite are also available from Windows itself and that there are very good free ones out there, it may seem unnecessary to spend any money on something that you can have at no cost. However, I have to admit that it surely helps you access multiple features from a single program.
